On the tails of Kay Kay and Bampa leaving, we opened our doors again to another visitor. Auntie Caity came from JMU on Friday afternoon to spend the Easter holiday with us. The boys and I jumped in the car and headed down the street on Friday afternoon to pick her up! Everyone was so excited to see her!! Will chatted on and on during our short ride home and Jack even talked a little too. We made a quick stop at Publix and headed to Londonderry Court.
Our weekend was busy but relaxing at the same time. Friday night after a quick Mexican inspired dinner we set up our egg dyeing station. Jack and Caity got to work decorating and dyeing eggs. Jack's favorite technique was dipping the same egg in every color. I soon found out that the dozen eggs I boiled were not enough for these two little creative bunnies (however, I am the only one that eats hard boiled eggs, so really this WAS enough). There was even a JMU egg represented (surprise, surprise). While Jack and Caity worked hard to out decorate one another, I had another project in the works. I read about "bunny bait" online and decided to give it a try. The recipe I used, I found
here. It was fun to make and tasted OK at best. Probably won't need to lure the Easter Bunny in with this next year. I think he will come on his own. :) Anyway, Jack enjoyed helping with some mixing and applying the sprinkles at the end. Of course, I did find his little grubby fingers deep inside the M&M bag once or twice too.

Friday night, although busy with crafts still left room for cuddles.

Saturday morning, Caity accompanied Jack and I to the Y for his swim lesson. Unfortunately it had been cancelled and no one told us. It was "Free Swim Lesson" day and the pool was full of kids all divided into different groups to try out the swim program. Oops. We jumped into the end of a class and get a little "swimming" and "jumping" in for Caity to see. Jack still had fun and really enjoyed getting in and out of the lockers in the locker room while Caity took his picture.
The day was gorgeous and Caity and I spent most of it sitting outside chatting while Jack played with the kids next door. We had the pleasure of overhearing this one little bit of a conversation:
Jack (to the two 10 year old boys and a 7 year old girl): "My brother has a birthday soon, how SWEET is that?"
Caity and I just looked at one another and cracked up! Where does he come up with this stuff?!!!
On Saturday night, Tom took over and Caity and I headed downtown for dinner. We enjoyed a nice meal outside on the patio at The Overlook Grille. This restaurant sits along the banks of the Reedy River and the patio looks right over the waterfall we have talked about
here. It was nice to have some adult conversation and then get to stroll along Main Street without having to rush home for bedtime. Thanks Caity!
After dinner, Caity helped us set up the Easter Bunny stuff and fill all the Easter eggs with goodies. We added Annie's graham cracker bunnies, Annie's Cheddar cracker bunnies, stickers, sponge animals and even some M&M's to the eggs. We "hid" a few around the playroom and left a note from the Easter Bunny for Mom and Dad to hide the rest outside.

Yes those are butt flap PJ's! |
Those PJ's are the cutest things and were part of a very special care package from Gramma and Poppa that arrived just in time for Easter. The boys each got a "jersey" with Meehan on the back and a number 1 for Jack and number 2 for Will. So cute-pictures will be coming soon. Jack also got a little pirate ship piggy bank that he was very quick to find "money" to put in it.
The Easter Bunny has arrived!

He even remember to bring Caity a little something special. |

Can you spot the eggs in the playroom among ALL the toys? |

Caity's flight was scheduled to leave in the early afternoon. I planned to make a nice breakfast for us instead of doing an early dinner/late lunch. We had a wonderful feast of homemade quiche, pineapple bake, fruit salad and coffee. We followed it up with our Easter egg hunt outside and then some down time before bringing Caity to the airport. We loved having her to celebrate with us and hope she enjoyed seeing our new home and her getting some cuddle time with her "babies".
